P.C.E.A. Tumutumu Hospital Karatina, Kenya Maternity Theater (Operation/Delivery Room) Revamp Project. Many of you have given resources, traveled, and worked at Tumutumu Hospital over the past 20 years. We have also had the honor of walking alongside Dr. James Kariithi the Medical Chief Officer of Tumutumu Hospital. Dr. Kariithi is an amazing surgeon and will be retiring from his post at Tumutumu in June 2024. The revamping of the Maternity Theater is very near and dear to his heart. We became very inspired by Dr. Kariithi's and Hudson Kinyua, the Tumutumu Hospital Administrator's vision and passion to update the hospital 's ability to improve childbirth and women's health care within their community.
This Project will be dedicated in honor of Dr. James Kariithi in May 2024

About 24 years ago Glenkirk Presbyterian Church in California, Solana Beach Presbyterian Church in California, and the Medical Benevolence Foundation partnered together with P.E.A.C. Tumutumu Hospital in Karatina, Kenya to build a Maternity Ward to serve the Mt. Kenya region. The project was a great success and led to many safe baby deliveries and inspired many other hospital improvements. This began a long-term partnership relationship that has proven to be life-changing for all involved. This Maternity Theater Revamping Project is to take place within this very Maternity Ward.
